🥔 Crock Pot “Baked” Potatoes (Foil-Wrapped)
Ingredients:
-
Russet potatoes (best for fluffy centers)
-
Olive oil or butter (optional)
-
Salt & pepper (optional)
-
Aluminum foil
Instructions
1. Prep the potatoes
-
Wash and dry potatoes thoroughly.
-
Optional but recommended:
-
Rub each potato with olive oil or softened butter.
-
Sprinkle with salt and pepper for extra flavor.
-
2. Wrap each potato tightly in foil
This helps steam + bake the potato evenly and keeps them moist.
3. Place into crock pot
-
Arrange foil-wrapped potatoes in a single layer if possible, but stacking is ok for larger batches.
4. Cook
Choose one:
-
Low: 7–8 hours
-
High: 4–5 hours
Potatoes are done when a fork slides in easily.
5. Optional finishing step
For crispy skins, unwrap and place in a 400°F (205°C) oven for 8–10 minutes.
Tips
-
Use medium to large russets — they cook the most evenly.
-
Avoid adding water — the potatoes steam in their own moisture.
-
Great for meal prep or topping bars (taco potatoes, chili potatoes, etc.).
-
Works the same with sweet potatoes, just reduce time slightly (Low 6–7 hours).
