Posted on November 27, 2025 by Admin
Here are clear, proper instructions for cooking foil-wrapped potatoes in a slow cooker (crock pot).

Slow Cooker Foil-Wrapped Potatoes

Ingredients

  • Russet potatoes (medium or large)

  • Olive oil or butter

  • Salt

  • Pepper

  • Optional: garlic powder, paprika, shredded cheese, sour cream, chives for serving

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the potatoes
Scrub the potatoes thoroughly and pat dry.

  2. Season the potatoes
Rub each potato with olive oil or butter.
Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and any additional seasoning you like.

  3. Wrap in foil
Wrap each potato tightly in aluminum foil.

  4. Place in the slow cooker
Arrange the foil-wrapped potatoes in the bottom of the crock pot.
    Do not add water.

  5. Cook

    • Cook on Low for 7–8 hours, or

    • Cook on High for 4–5 hours,
depending on the size of the potatoes.
Potatoes are done when a fork inserts easily into the center.

  6. Serve
Carefully unwrap and serve with optional toppings such as cheese, butter, sour cream, or chives.
