To make smoked sausage and potatoes

Posted on December 3, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a simple, hearty recipe for smoked sausage and potatoes—easy, fast, and perfect for a weeknight meal. No unsafe ingredients or medical claims, just good comfort food.

Smoked Sausage & Potatoes (Skillet or Oven)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
  • 1.5–2 lbs (700–900 g) potatoes, diced (Yukon Gold or red potatoes work best)
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped (optional)
  • 2–3 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (or 2–3 minced garlic cloves)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

OPTION 1: Skillet Method (fast & crispy)

  1. Brown the sausage
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned (4–6 minutes). Remove and set aside.
  2. Cook the potatoes
Add remaining oil to the skillet. Add diced potatoes, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic.
Cook 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender and browned.
  3. Add veggies
Add onions and bell peppers. Cook 5 minutes until softened.
  4. Combine
Return sausage to the skillet. Stir everything together for 2–3 minutes.
  5. Serve
Garnish with parsley if you like. Enjoy!

OPTION 2: Oven Method (hands-off & easy)

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).
  2. Mix everything
Toss potatoes, sausage, onion, and peppers with olive oil, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Spread on a baking sheet lined with foil.
  4. Bake 35–45 minutes, stirring halfway, until potatoes are golden and tender.
  5. Serve hot.

If you’d like, I can also include:

  • a slow-cooker version,
  • a Cajun or cheesy version,
  • or a shopping list.
