These brown crusty spots keep showing up, and my doctor is booked for weeks given Christmas

Posted on December 31, 2025 by Admin

I understand it can be worrying when new spots keep appearing. Since you’re a teen, it’s safest to get checked as soon as possible, especially if the spots are:

  • Changing in size, shape, or color
  • Itchy, bleeding, or painful
  • Spreading quickly

A few things you can do while waiting for your appointment:

  • Avoid scratching or picking – this can make spots worse or cause infection.
  • Take photos – this helps your doctor see how they change over time.
  • Protect from sun – if spots are on exposed skin, use sunscreen or cover them.

Because you’re a minor and the doctor’s booked, you could:

  • Call your doctor’s office and explain the urgency; sometimes they can fit you in sooner or direct you to an on-call doctor.
  • Go to an urgent care clinic if the spots are spreading, painful, or bleeding.

If you want, I can also help you figure out what kinds of skin conditions these brown crusty spots might be so you’ll know what to mention to your doctor. Do you want me to do that?
