Posted on November 27, 2025 by Admin

Here is the best, softest, most accurate copycat Texas Roadhouse Rolls recipe — warm, fluffy, slightly sweet, and perfect with cinnamon honey butter!

🍞 Texas Roadhouse Rolls (Copycat)

Ingredients (Makes 12–15 rolls)

For the Rolls

  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F / 43°C)

  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry or instant yeast (1 packet)

  • ¼ cup sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 tbsp melted butter

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 3–3½ cups all-purpose flour

For the Cinnamon Honey Butter

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 2 tbsp honey

  • ¼ cup powdered sugar

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

🥣 Step 1 — Activate Yeast

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm milk + sugar.

  2. Stir in yeast and let sit 5 minutes (until foamy).

If using instant yeast, you can skip proofing, but it still helps the texture.

🧈 Step 2 — Make the Dough

  1. Add egg, melted butter, and salt.

  2. Slowly add flour, starting with 3 cups.

  3. Knead 5–7 minutes until dough is soft, stretchy, and slightly tacky (not sticky).

🕒 Step 3 — First Rise

  1. Place dough in a greased bowl.

  2. Cover and let rise in a warm place 1 to 1½ hours, until doubled.

🍞 Step 4 — Shape the Rolls

  1. Roll dough into a rectangle about ½–¾ inch thick.

  2. Cut into square or rectangle rolls (Texas Roadhouse style).

  3. Place on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet.

  4. Let rise 30–45 minutes until puffy.

🔥 Step 5 — Bake

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Bake 15–18 minutes, until light golden brown—not dark.

  3. Brush warm rolls generously with melted butter.

🍯 Step 6 — Cinnamon Honey Butter

Mix together:

  • softened butter

  • honey

  • powdered sugar

  • cinnamon

Whip until smooth and fluffy.

⭐ Tips for Perfect Rolls

  • The dough should be soft—adding too much flour makes dense rolls.

  • Use whole milk for the best richness.

  • Let the first rise go fully to double size.

  • For extra-sweet rolls, add 1 extra tablespoon of sugar.

  • Rolls freeze well after shaping (before second rise).

If you want, I can give you a fast-rise version, a buttermilk version, or a whole-pan dinner roll version
