Pineapple Honey-Glazed Ham

Ingredients

Serves 8–12

For the Ham

  • 1 fully cooked bone-in ham (8–10 pounds)

  • Whole cloves (optional, for studding)

For the Pineapple Honey Glaze

  • 1 cup pineapple juice

  • 1/2 cup honey

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For Garnish (Optional)

  • Pineapple rings

  • Maraschino cherries

  • Toothpicks for securing


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven:
    Heat oven to 325°F (165°C).

  2. Prep the ham:
    Score the ham in a diamond pattern using a sharp knife, cutting about 1/4 inch deep.
    Insert whole cloves into some of the intersections if desired.

  3. Prepare the glaze:
    In a saucepan, combine pineapple juice, honey, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, butter, cinnamon, ground cloves, and black pepper.
    Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.

  4. Glaze the ham:
    Place the ham cut-side down in a roasting pan lined with foil for easy cleanup.
    Brush a generous layer of glaze all over the ham.

  5. Bake:
    Cover loosely with foil and bake for 1½ to 2 hours (about 12–15 minutes per pound), brushing with glaze every 20–30 minutes.

  6. Optional pineapple topping:
    During the last 30 minutes of baking, remove foil and attach pineapple rings and cherries to the ham with toothpicks. Brush with more glaze and continue baking uncovered to caramelize.

  7. Finish:
    Let the ham rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing.
    Serve with remaining glaze.
