Here is a simple, classic Peach Cobbler recipe — no fluff, no emojis, just a reliable homemade version that works with fresh, canned, or frozen peaches.

Classic Peach Cobbler

Ingredients

For the Peaches

  • 4 cups sliced peaches (fresh, frozen, or 1 large can drained)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons butter

For the Batter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup melted butter

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat Oven

  • Heat oven to 350°F (175°C).

Step 2: Prepare the Peaches

If using fresh or frozen:

  1. Add peaches, sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and 2 tbsp butter to a saucepan.
  2. Cook 5 minutes until peaches soften slightly.

If using canned peaches:

  • Skip cooking — just stir peaches with cinnamon and lemon juice.

Step 3: Make the Batter

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Stir in milk until smooth.
  3. Pour melted butter into a baking dish (8×8 or similar).
  4. Pour the batter directly over the melted butter — do not stir.

Step 4: Add the Peaches

  • Spoon peaches and their juices evenly over the batter.
  • Do not stir; the batter rises up around the peaches as it bakes.

Step 5: Bake

  • Bake 45–55 minutes until golden brown and set.

Step 6: Serve

  • Serve warm, plain or with vanilla ice cream.

Tips

  • Add a pinch of nutmeg for a deeper flavor.
  • Substitute half the sugar with brown sugar for a richer sauce.
  • For a thicker cobbler top, add 2 extra tablespoons of flour to the batter.
