Here’s a simple, crispy, old-fashioned style Oven Fried Potatoes & Onions recipe — ingredients and full instructions!

🥔 Oven Fried Potatoes & Onions

Ingredients

  • 4–5 medium russet or Yukon Gold potatoes, diced or sliced

  • 1 large onion, sliced

  • 3–4 tbsp olive oil (or melted butter)

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1/2–1 tsp salt (to taste)

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • Optional:

    • 1/2 tsp onion powder

    • Fresh herbs (parsley, rosemary, or thyme)

    • Red pepper flakes for heat

Instructions

1. Preheat oven

  • Heat oven to 425°F (220°C).

  • Line a large baking sheet with parchment or lightly grease it.

2. Prep potatoes and onions

  • Dice or slice potatoes evenly so they cook at the same rate.

  • Slice the onion into strips or rings.

  • Add both to a large bowl.

3. Season

  • Drizzle on oil or melted butter.

  • Add garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and optional seasonings.

  • Toss well to coat everything evenly.

4. Spread & bake

  • Spread potatoes and onions in a single layer on the baking sheet.

  • Bake 25 minutes, flip, then bake another 15–20 minutes until golden and crispy.

5. Serve

  • Sprinkle with fresh herbs if desired.

  • Serve hot with ketchup, ranch, or next to breakfast, chicken, or steak.

🔥 Tips for Maximum Crispiness

  • Don’t overcrowd the pan — use two sheets if needed.

  • Pat potatoes dry before seasoning.

  • Flip halfway for even browning.

  • Broil the last 2–3 minutes if you want browned edges.
