Layz man peach cobbler

Posted on November 30, 2025 by Admin

Here’s the super-easy Lazy Man (Lazy) Peach Cobbler recipe—sweet, buttery, bubbly, and done with almost no effort. This is the classic Southern-style “dump cobbler.”

🍑 Lazy Man Peach Cobbler

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 stick (½ cup) butter
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 large can (29 oz) sliced peaches in syrup
    • Or two 15-oz cans
  • Optional: ½–1 tsp cinnamon, ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • Optional: extra ¼ cup sugar to sprinkle on top

Instructions

1. Preheat

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Melt butter

Place the stick of butter directly in a 9×13 baking dish.
Put the dish in the oven for a few minutes until the butter melts.
(Remove carefully!)

3. Mix batter

In a bowl, whisk together:

  • Flour
  • Sugar
  • Milk
  • Baking powder
  • Salt

Don’t overmix—just stir until smooth.

4. Pour batter over butter

Pour batter into the pan right over the melted butter.
Do not stir.

5. Add peaches

Spoon the canned peaches with their syrup evenly over the top.
Do not stir.

6. Add spices

Sprinkle cinnamon or nutmeg on top if desired.

7. Bake

Bake 45–55 minutes until golden brown and the edges are bubbling.

8. Serve

Let cool 10 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

⭐ Tips

  • Using peaches with syrup gives the caramelized edges people love.
  • If using fresh peaches, add ½–1 cup sugar and ½ cup water to mimic syrup.
  • Adding a sprinkle of sugar on top before baking makes a lightly crisp crust.
  • For extra richness: replace ¼ cup milk with heavy cream.
