How to clean your home floor with just 3 ingredients: never had it so white

Posted on January 12, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple, effective 3-ingredient floor cleaner that works especially well on ceramic tile, porcelain, and grout, leaving floors noticeably whiter and brighter ✨

3-Ingredient Floor Cleaning Method

What you’ll need

  1. White vinegar – removes grease, soap residue, and dull buildup
  2. Baking soda – lifts stains and whitens grout
  3. Warm water – activates and spreads the cleaning power

How to do it

  1. Mix the solution
    • 1 bucket of warm water
    • ½ cup white vinegar
    • 2 tablespoons baking soda
(Add the baking soda slowly—it will fizz.)
  2. Mop the floor
    • Dip your mop, wring it well, and clean as usual.
    • Focus on darker or heavily used areas.
  3. Let it work
    • Leave the solution on the floor for 5–10 minutes.
  4. Rinse
    • Mop again using clean water to remove residue.
    • Let air-dry or wipe with a dry cloth.

Extra whitening boost (for grout)

  • Make a paste with baking soda + a little water
  • Apply to grout lines
  • Scrub with an old toothbrush
  • Rinse well

Important cautions ⚠️

  • Do NOT use vinegar on:
    ❌ Marble
    ❌ Natural stone
    ❌ Granite
    ❌ Waxed or hardwood floors
  • For these, I can give you a safe alternative if you want.

Result

✔ Brighter tiles
✔ Whiter grout
✔ No sticky residue
✔ No harsh chemicals

If you tell me what type of floor you have, I can tailor the mix exactly for it.
