Cheeseburger Meatloaf

Here’s a delicious, juicy Cheeseburger Meatloaf—everything you love about a cheeseburger baked into a comforting meatloaf!


Cheeseburger Meatloaf

Ingredients (serves 6)

For the meatloaf:

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely diced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp mustard (yellow or Dijon)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder

For the topping:

  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • Optional: extra shredded cheddar for melting on top

Instructions

1. Preheat oven

  • Heat to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a baking sheet or loaf pan with foil for easy cleanup.

2. Mix the meatloaf

In a large bowl, combine:

  • ground beef
  • shredded cheddar
  • breadcrumbs
  • diced onion
  • eggs
  • ketchup
  • mustard
  • Worcestershire
  • salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder

Mix gently just until combined—don’t overmix.


3. Shape & place

  • Form into a loaf shape on the baking sheet (or press into a loaf pan).

4. Add the topping

Mix together:

  • ketchup
  • mustard
  • brown sugar

Spread evenly over the top of the meatloaf.


5. Bake

  • Bake 55–65 minutes, or until internal temp reaches 160°F (71°C).
  • Optional: Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top during the last 10 minutes for a melted cheeseburger look.

6. Rest & serve

  • Let rest 10 minutes before slicing so it holds together.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, fries, or a simple salad.

Tips

  • Add pickles: Mix in 1/4 cup chopped dill pickles for full cheeseburger vibe.
  • Make it bacon-y: Add crumbled cooked bacon into the mixture or on top.
  • Juicier loaf: Mix in 1/4 cup milk or 2 tbsp mayo for extra moisture.
