Here’s a classic Brown Sugar-Glazed Spiral-Sliced Baked Ham recipe—sweet, sticky, and perfect for holidays, family dinners, or special occasions.

🍖 Brown Sugar-Glazed Spiral-Sliced Baked Ham

Ingredients

  • 1 fully cooked spiral-sliced ham (8–10 lbs)
  • 1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • ¼ cup honey or maple syrup
  • ¼ cup Dijon mustard or yellow mustard
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar or orange juice (optional, for tang)
  • Optional: cloves for studding

Instructions

1. Preheat oven

Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
Place the ham in a roasting pan, cut-side down. Add a little water to the bottom of the pan to keep it moist.

2. Make the glaze

In a small saucepan or bowl, combine:

  • Brown sugar
  • Honey
  • Mustard
  • Vinegar or orange juice (optional)

Stir or heat slightly until sugar dissolves and mixture is smooth.

3. Apply the glaze

  • Brush a generous layer of glaze over the entire ham.
  • If desired, stud the ham with cloves for added flavor.

4. Bake

  • Cover loosely with aluminum foil.
  • Bake 10–12 minutes per pound, basting with glaze every 20–30 minutes.
  • For a 10 lb ham, this is roughly 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours.

Tip: Remove foil for the last 20–30 minutes to let glaze caramelize.

5. Rest and serve

  • Remove ham from oven and let rest 10–15 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve warm with any remaining glaze from the pan.

⭐ Tips

  • Pre-cooked spiral ham: Already cooked; this step is mainly for glazing and heating through.
  • Extra caramelization: Broil for 2–3 minutes at the very end, watching carefully so it doesn’t burn.
  • Flavor variations: Add orange juice, pineapple juice, or brown sugar mixed with mustard for a tangy-sweet glaze.
  • Leftovers: Ham keeps well in the fridge for 3–5 days and is great in sandwiches, soups, or casseroles.

I can also give you a sticky maple-bourbon glaze version that adds a rich, slightly boozy flavor to the spiral ham if you want.

Do you want that version?
