Baked Apple Fritters

Posted on December 3, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a baked version of apple fritters — soft and tender inside, lightly crisp outside, with a sweet cinnamon glaze. No frying needed! 🍎✨

⭐ Baked Apple Fritters

Ingredients (makes 8–10 fritters)

Fritters

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1½ cups peeled, diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)

Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

🍏 Instructions

1. Prep the apples

  • Optional: sauté apples with 1 tbsp butter and 1 tbsp brown sugar for 2–3 minutes to soften slightly. Let cool.

2. Make the batter

  1. Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat eggs, milk, and melted butter.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients gently, then fold in apples.

3. Bake

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Drop ¼-cup scoops of batter onto the sheet, spacing evenly.
  • Bake 12–15 minutes, until golden and set.

4. Glaze

  • Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Drizzle over warm fritters and let set a few minutes.

💡 Tips

  • For extra crisp edges, brush lightly with melted butter before baking.
  • Add a pinch of salted caramel or chopped nuts on top for more flavor.
  • For mini fritters, reduce baking time to 10 minutes.

I can also provide a cinnamon-roll style baked apple fritter version with a swirl of cinnamon sugar inside if you want it even more indulgent.
