🥑 Avocado Cilantro Lime Sauce/Salsa

Ingredients (makes about 1 cup)

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves (packed)
  • 1–2 cloves garlic
  • 1 small jalapeño, seeded (optional, for heat)
  • Juice of 1 lime (about 2 tbsp)
  • 1/4 cup sour cream, Greek yogurt, or mayonnaise (for creaminess, optional)
  • 2–4 tbsp water (to thin)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Optional: 1–2 tbsp olive oil for extra richness

Instructions

  1. Blend Ingredients
    • In a blender or food processor, combine avocado, cilantro, garlic, jalapeño, lime juice, and sour cream (if using).
    • Blend until smooth.
  2. Adjust Consistency
    • Add water 1 tablespoon at a time until sauce reaches desired pourable consistency.
  3. Season
    • Taste and season with salt. Add extra lime juice for brightness or jalapeño for heat.
  4. Serve
    • Drizzle over tacos, burritos, grilled chicken, or fish.
    • Use as a creamy dip for chips or veggies.

  • Dairy-free: Omit sour cream or yogurt; use extra avocado or a little olive oil for creaminess.
