Almond Cake

Here’s a simple, classic Almond Cake you can make at home 🍰
(It’s moist, lightly sweet, and great on its own or with fruit.)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (200 g) sugar
  • ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1½ cups (150 g) almond flour
  • ½ cup (60 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup (120 ml) milk
  • Sliced almonds (for topping, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8-inch (20 cm) round pan.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then add almond and vanilla extracts.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix almond flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Add dry ingredients to the batter, alternating with milk, mixing gently.
  6. Pour into the pan and sprinkle sliced almonds on top if using.
  7. Bake 35–40 minutes, until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool slightly, then remove from pan.

Optional Ideas

  • Dust with powdered sugar after cooling
  • Serve with berries or whipped cream
  • Add a little lemon zest for a fresh twist
