Ingredients

  • 2–3 medium potatoes (Russet or Yukon Gold work best)
  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp paprika (smoked or sweet)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, parsley)

Instructions

1. Prepare the potatoes

  1. Wash and peel the potatoes if desired.
  2. Slice into ¼-inch thick rounds for even cooking.
  3. Optional: Soak slices in cold water for 15–30 minutes to remove excess starch (makes them crispier).
  4. Pat dry thoroughly with a paper towel.

2. Season

  • In a large bowl, toss potato slices with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and optional herbs.

3. Preheat air fryer

  • Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.

4. Air fry

  1. Arrange potato slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket (do not overcrowd).
  2. Cook 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Cook in batches if necessary for even crispiness.

5. Serve

  • Serve hot with ketchup, aioli, or your favorite dipping sauce.
  • Optional: Sprinkle with extra herbs or Parmesan cheese for extra flavor.

  • Crispier: Lightly spray with extra oil before air frying.
