Rich, velvety, buttery, and unbelievably moist. This is the famous old-school Southern-style recipe people swear tastes like it’s worth a million bucks.

💛 Million Dollar Cream Cheese Pound Cake

⭐ What Makes It “Million Dollar”?

✔ Cream cheese for ultra-moist texture
✔ A full cup of butter for richness
✔ Fine, tight crumb
✔ Golden crust that tastes like caramelized sugar
✔ No shortcuts — slow-baked to perfection

🧈 Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 (8-oz) block cream cheese, softened
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract (or ½ vanilla + ½ almond extract)
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour, spooned & leveled
  • ½ tsp salt

Optional (highly recommended):

  • Zest of 1 lemon or orange

🍰 Instructions

1. Prep

  • Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C) (low and slow!).
  • Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan or tube pan.

2. Cream Butter, Cream Cheese & Sugar

Beat butter and cream cheese until completely smooth.
Add sugar and beat 5–7 minutes until very light and fluffy.
(This step creates the pound cake’s signature texture.)

3. Add Eggs One at a Time

Add eggs, mixing after each addition.
Don’t rush — slow, even mixing prevents dryness.

4. Add Vanilla

Mix in vanilla (and zest if using).

5. Add Flour

Sift flour + salt, then add to batter on low speed, just until combined.
Do not overmix.

6. Bake

Pour batter into the pan and smooth the top.
Bake 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes,
until a skewer comes out clean.

The cake should have a golden crust and soft interior.

7. Cool Properly

Cool 10–15 minutes in the pan, then remove to cool completely on a rack.

✨ Serving Ideas

  • Dust with powdered sugar
  • Serve with fresh berries and whipped cream
  • Drizzle with lemon glaze
  • Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream

⭐ Pro Tips for Perfect Pound Cake

  • All ingredients must be room temperature.
  • Long creaming = airy, tender crumb.
  • Low oven temp prevents cracking and dryness.
  • Letting it rest a full day deepens the flavor.
