Ingredients

1 lb sea scallops, cleaned and patted dry

4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

3β4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp lemon juice
-
1/2 tsp smoked paprika or regular paprika (optional)

Salt & pepper, to taste

2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Optional: grated Parmesan or breadcrumbs for topping
Instructions
1. Prep oven and baking dish

Preheat oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

Lightly grease a baking dish or line with parchment paper.
2. Make garlic butter
-
In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, paprika, salt, and pepper.
3. Arrange scallops
-
Place scallops in the baking dish in a single layer.

Pour garlic butter evenly over them.

Optional: sprinkle a little Parmesan or breadcrumbs on top for extra flavor and slight crust.
4. Bake

Bake 10β12 minutes until scallops are opaque and slightly firm to the touch.

Do not overcook β scallops become rubbery quickly.
5. Serve

Sprinkle with fresh parsley and a little extra lemon juice.

Serve immediately with rice, pasta, or a fresh salad.

Dry scallops: Pat scallops completely dry for better sear if you prefer broiling or pan-searing before baking.

Extra flavor: Add a splash of white wine to the butter mixture.

Broil for a minute: For a golden top, broil 1β2 minutes after baking.
