Posted on December 4, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Halloumi Bagel Bites — perfect as a snack, appetizer, or light lunch.

Halloumi Bagel Bites

Ingredients

  • 4 mini bagels or 2 regular bagels, sliced into halves
  • 8 oz halloumi cheese, sliced into small cubes or strips
  • 1–2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano or za’atar (optional)
  • Cherry tomatoes or roasted red peppers (optional)
  • Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the bagels

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Arrange bagel halves on a baking sheet.
  3. Lightly brush the tops with olive oil.

Step 2: Cook the halloumi

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat with a little olive oil.
  2. Pan-fry halloumi cubes for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown.

Step 3: Assemble

  1. Top each bagel half with fried halloumi.
  2. Add optional toppings like cherry tomatoes or roasted red peppers.
  3. Sprinkle with dried oregano or za’atar for extra flavor.

Step 4: Bake

  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 5–7 minutes, until bagels are slightly toasted and cheese is warm.

Step 5: Serve

  • Garnish with fresh basil or parsley.
  • Serve immediately as a snack, appetizer, or light meal.

Tips

  • For a crispier texture, toast the bagels lightly before topping.
  • Drizzle a little honey or balsamic glaze over the finished bagel bites for a sweet-savory twist.
  • Can also be made in an air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 5–6 minutes.

If you want, I can also give a spicy version with harissa or chili flakes for extra kick.
