  • 2 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 3 tbsp cold water (slurry for thickening)

Instructions

1. Prep the Beef

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Quickly sear beef strips for 1–2 minutes until browned (this step adds flavor but is optional if you’re in a hurry).

2. Combine in Crock Pot

  1. Add the sliced peppers, onions, and garlic to the slow cooker.
  2. Place the beef on top.
  3. Mix together beef broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce, Worcestershire sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper. Pour over the beef and vegetables.

3. Cook

  • Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until beef is tender and vegetables are cooked but still slightly crisp.

4. Thicken the Sauce

  1. About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the cornstarch slurry.
  2. Cover and cook until the sauce thickens to a glossy consistency.

5. Serve

  • Serve hot over steamed rice, noodles, or mashed potatoes.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
