Baked Potato

Posted on December 3, 2025 by Admin

Here’s the perfect, simple Baked Potato — fluffy inside, crisp salty skin outside, and ready for any topping you love. 🥔✨

⭐ Perfect Baked Potato

Ingredients

  • 1 large russet potato (the best for baking)
  • 1–2 tsp olive oil or melted butter
  • Salt (coarse or kosher salt works great)
  • Optional: pepper, garlic powder, or paprika

🍳 Instructions

1. Prep the potato

  • Scrub the potato clean and pat dry.
  • Use a fork to poke holes around it (prevents bursting).
  • Rub with oil or butter.
  • Sprinkle generously with salt so the skin gets crisp.

2. Bake

  • Place directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet.
  • Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 50–60 minutes
    • The potato should feel soft when squeezed gently.
    • Skin should be crisp and brown.

3. Serve

Cut a slit down the top, squeeze the ends gently to fluff up the inside, then add toppings like:

Classic

  • Butter
  • Sour cream
  • Cheddar
  • Chives
  • Bacon bits
  • Salt & pepper

Loaded

  • Chili
  • Pulled pork
  • Broccoli + cheese
  • Garlic butter chicken
  • Alfredo sauce

Healthy-ish

  • Greek yogurt
  • Salsa
  • Steamed veggies
  • Cottage cheese

🔥 Tips

  • For extra crispy skin, bake without foil.
  • For the fluffiest interior, bake directly on the oven rack.
  • If you’re short on time, microwave 5–7 minutes first, then bake 20 minutes to crisp.

If you want, I can give you:
🥔 a twice-baked stuffed potato,
🧀 a cheesy loaded potato, or
🌿 a herb-roasted version!
