Ingredients (4 servings)

Chicken

  • 2 large chicken breasts, sliced into thin cutlets or strips
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)
  • 2–3 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Pasta

  • 12 oz linguine

Alfredo Sauce

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 4–5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1½ cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup fresh grated Parmesan
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ cup pasta water (reserved)
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional: pinch of nutmeg for classic alfredo flavor

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley
  • Extra parmesan

🍳 Instructions

1. Cook the linguine

  • Boil pasta to al dente in salted water.
  • Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain and set aside.

2. Season & sear the chicken

  • Season chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  • Heat butter + olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Sear chicken 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
  • Remove to a plate and keep warm.

3. Make the garlic butter Alfredo sauce

Using the same skillet (don’t clean it — flavor!):

  1. Add 3 tbsp butter and melt.
  2. Add garlic and sauté 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
  4. Add Parmesan and whisk until smooth and melted.
  5. Season with black pepper, Italian seasoning, and salt if needed.
  6. Add small splashes of pasta water until the sauce is silky and coats a spoon.

4. Combine

  • Add the cooked linguine to the sauce and toss.
  • Slice the chicken and place on top (or mix in).
  • Simmer 1–2 minutes so the pasta absorbs the sauce.

5. Serve

Top with:

  • Fresh parsley
  • Extra Parmesan
  • Optional: a squeeze of lemon for brightness

Creamy garlic butter mushroom version: Add sliced mushrooms after sautéing garlic.
Spinach alfredo: Stir in 2 cups fresh spinach at the end.
Cajun garlic butter chicken: Add 1 tsp Cajun seasoning to the chicken + sauce.
Extra rich: Add 2 oz cream cheese to the sauce for extra thickness.
