POTATO FRITTERS RECIPE

Here is a crispy, golden, easy Potato Fritters recipe — perfect as a snack, side dish, or breakfast addition. They’re crunchy on the outside, soft inside, and made with simple ingredients.


🥔 Crispy Potato Fritters

Ingredients (makes 10–12 fritters):

  • 3 medium potatoes, peeled
  • 1 small onion (optional but recommended)
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)
  • 2–3 tbsp fresh herbs (parsley, chives, or dill) — optional
  • Oil for frying (vegetable, canola, or sunflower)

Instructions

1. Grate the potatoes

Use a box grater or food processor to shred the potatoes.
Place them in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out as much liquid as possible — this is the key to crispiness.

2. Grate the onion

Grate the onion and squeeze lightly.
Add it to the potatoes.

3. Mix the batter

In a bowl, combine:

  • potatoes
  • onion
  • eggs
  • flour
  • salt & pepper
  • optional spices/herbs

Mix until combined. The mixture should be thick — add a little more flour if too wet.

4. Heat the oil

Pour oil ¼ inch deep into a pan.
Heat over medium to medium-high until shimmering.

5. Fry the fritters

Scoop spoonfuls of batter into the pan and flatten slightly.
Cook 3–4 minutes per side until golden and crisp.
Transfer to a paper towel–lined plate.

6. Serve hot

They’re best right out of the pan!

  • Chili mayo
  • Cheese sauce
