Posted on January 10, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple, delicious recipe for Baked Apple Fritters—light, fluffy, and healthier than the fried version, but still indulgent.

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

For the Fritters:

  • 2 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and chopped into small cubes
  • 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • 2 large eggs
  • ⅓ cup (80 ml) milk
  • ¼ cup (50 g) sugar (or adjust to taste)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp melted butter or neutral oil

For the Glaze (optional but delicious):

  • ½ cup (60 g) powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tbsp milk or cream
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven & Prep Pan:
    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Mix Wet Ingredients:
    • In another bowl, beat eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and melted butter.
  4. Combine & Add Apples:
    • Gradually stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.
    • Fold in the chopped apples gently—don’t overmix.
  5. Shape Fritters:
    • Use a spoon to drop small mounds of batter onto the prepared baking sheet (about 2–3 inches wide).
    • Space them a little apart—they will expand slightly.
  6. Bake:
    • Bake for 18–22 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Optional Glaze:
    • Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
    • Drizzle over warm fritters before serving.
  8. Serve:
    • Best enjoyed warm. Perfect with tea, coffee, or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Tips for Perfect Baked Apple Fritters

  • Apple choice matters: Tart apples balance the sweetness, while sweeter apples make them dessert-like.
  • Don’t overmix: Keeps fritters light and tender.
  • Extra flavor: Sprinkle a bit of cinnamon sugar on top before baking for a crunchy-sweet finish.

If you want, I can also give a quick 15-minute mini-version that’s almost no-fuss and great for last-minute snacks.

Do you want me to share that version too?
