Here’s a sweet and comforting recipe for Apple Pie Biscuits—flaky, buttery biscuits filled with warm cinnamon-spiced apples, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

🍏 Apple Pie Biscuits

Ingredients (makes 8–10 biscuits)

For the Biscuits:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk (or buttermilk)

For the Apple Filling:

  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

Optional Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tsp milk or cream
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Prepare Apple Filling

  1. In a small skillet over medium heat, combine diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  2. Cook 5–7 minutes until apples are tender.
  3. If filling seems watery, stir in cornstarch and cook 1–2 minutes until thickened. Let cool.

2. Make Biscuits

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. Cut in cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in milk until just combined.

3. Assemble Apple Pie Biscuits

  1. On a lightly floured surface, roll biscuit dough to about 1/2-inch thick.
  2. Cut into rounds or squares (using a cookie cutter or knife).
  3. Place a small spoonful of apple filling in the center of half the biscuits.
  4. Top with remaining biscuit pieces, pressing edges to seal.

4. Bake

  1. Place biscuits on prepared baking sheet.
  2. Bake 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  3. Let cool slightly.

5. Optional Glaze

  1. Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Drizzle over warm biscuits.

Tips & Variations

  • Extra cinnamon flavor: Add 1 tsp cinnamon to the biscuit dough.
  • Cheddar twist: For a savory-sweet version, sprinkle a little sharp cheddar on top before baking.
  • Mini biscuits: Use a smaller cutter for bite-sized treats.
  • Make-ahead: Prepare apple filling in advance; assemble biscuits just before baking.

These Apple Pie Biscuits are flaky, buttery, and bursting with cinnamon-sweet apples, combining the best of biscuits and apple pie in every bite.

I can also provide a quick one-bowl skillet version that’s soft, rustic, and ready in 30 minutes if you want.
