Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Lemon wedges, for serving
  • Cooked pasta or crusty bread, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
    • Lightly grease a baking dish large enough to hold the shrimp in a single layer.
  2. Prepare shrimp mixture
    • In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, pepper, and lemon juice.
  3. Assemble for baking
    • Place shrimp in the prepared baking dish.
    • Pour butter-garlic mixture over shrimp and toss gently to coat evenly.
  4. Bake
    • Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until shrimp are pink, opaque, and cooked through.
    • Optional: sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the shrimp for the last 2 minutes of baking for a cheesy touch.
  5. Garnish and serve
    • Sprinkle chopped parsley over the shrimp.
    • Serve hot with cooked pasta, rice, or crusty bread to soak up the garlic butter.
    • Add extra lemon wedges for brightness.
