Oh yes! Let’s do Maple Cookies—soft, chewy, and full of that rich maple flavor. Here’s a full recipe so you can bake a batch that’s irresistible. 🍁

Maple Cookies with Maple Icing

Ingredients (makes about 24 cookies)

For the cookies:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

For the maple icing:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1–2 teaspoons milk (optional, to thin)

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat oven

  • Preheat to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

Step 2: Make the cookie dough

  1. In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in maple syrup, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until a soft dough forms.

Step 3: Shape and bake

  1. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
  2. Flatten slightly with a fork or your hand.
  3. Bake 10–12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
  4. Cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Step 4: Make the icing

  1. Whisk together powdered sugar and maple syrup.
  2. If too thick, add milk 1 teaspoon at a time until pourable.

Step 5: Ice the cookies

  • Once cookies are fully cooled, drizzle or spread the maple icing on top.
  • Let icing set for 20–30 minutes before serving.

Tips

  • Always use pure maple syrup for the best flavor.
  • Optional: sprinkle finely chopped pecans on top for crunch.
  • Don’t overbake—these cookies are soft and chewy, not hard.

These cookies are perfectly soft, sweet, and maple-y—a great treat for breakfast, dessert, or snack time.

I can also give a gluten-free version if you want one that’s just as soft and flavorful. Do you want me to do that?
